TRINITY WORSHIP
Pastor Jake Russell has served in worship ministry since the age of 12, growing up as a pastor's kid and serving on worship teams in churches throughout his life. After serving as a Worship Pastor from 2017–2022, he joined the Trinity staff in late 2022 as Worship Arts Pastor. Jake primarily leads from guitar, both acoustic and electric, and has a passion for developing people and helping them discover and grow in the gifts God has given them. He also loves bringing together different styles and eras of worship music and, most of all, making music together for the glory of God.
Jake's wife, Courtney, serves alongside and supports him in the ministry, and together they are passionate about building a healthy, unified team at Trinity. They live in North Columbus with their two children.

THE HEART OF TRINITY WORSHIP
At Trinity, we believe worship is more than what happens on a Sunday morning. It is our response to who God is and an opportunity to use the gifts He has given us to glorify Him and serve His Church. These three values shape how we worship, how we serve, and how we grow together as a team.

AUTHENTICITY Worship Over Performance
“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” — John 4:24
We believe worship is about genuinely responding to who God is, not putting on a show. We pursue excellence because God deserves our best, but our goal is never to impress people. We want to worship with honesty and humility, embracing who God has called us to be rather than imitating another church or ministry. We’re Trinity, and we want our worship to reflect the unique gifts, personality, and calling God has given our church.
ABILITY Developing Our God-Given Gifts
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10
We believe God has uniquely gifted every person, and those gifts are meant to be discovered, developed, and used for His glory. We want to help each person grow both spiritually and musically, challenging one another to develop our abilities and reach our God-given potential. Whether someone is learning their first instrument, growing as a vocalist, or honing years of experience, we want to create an environment where people can learn, grow, and use their gifts to serve Christ and His Church.

AVAILABILITY Offering Our Gifts Back to God
Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. — Romans 12:1
We believe our gifts are not just for us. They are opportunities to serve God and others. Worship is a collaborative experience, as we listen to one another, worship alongside our congregation, and remain sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We want to come prepared and bring our best, while remaining willing to step outside our comfort zones, serve where we are needed, and follow where God leads.

There's a Place for You
We believe serving on the Trinity Worship Team starts with being part of the Trinity family. Before joining the team, we want you to be connected to our church, regularly worshiping with us, and invested in the life of the church beyond Sunday morning. Our team is made up of people who don't just serve together, but worship, grow, and do life together.
Here's What We're Singing on Sundays:
Want to get a feel for the music you'll hear at Trinity? We've put together a Spotify playlist featuring the original recordings of songs that are regularly part of our worship rotation. These are the versions you may recognize from Christian radio, other churches, or your own playlist.

Interested in serving with us? Whether you're interested in music, audio, video, media, or photography, we'd love to hear from you. The first step is to fill out our Worship Team application. Once we receive your application, Pastor Jake or a member of the Trinity Worship Team will reach out to you to schedule an audition and talk more about where your gifts and experience may be the best fit.
